Pod of Whales in Moose Antler Button Pendant

Here we have a pod of whales,
sculpted from Shed Moose Antler.

tere seems to be a whole family unit.
There is an adolescent at the bottom.
The whale immediately above seems to be embracing or guiding him,
and the whale above that is swimming the opposite direction,
perhaps keeping watch.

You should note that on the middle whale,
I removed the original tail,
because of an inconsistancy in the antler.
I then replaced the tail,
Inserted a re-enforcing rod,
and laid several thin veneers
of matching antler over the join,
Thus disguising it from the front.
The join can be seen from the back, in this picture.

I signed this button with a tiny TR and 2006

This tiny pod of whales measures 1 and 1/8th inches long,
and 3/4ths of an inch tall.


This button includes a decorative certificate of Authenticity.
