Antler'd Stag Button

This button, carved from an exceptional piece Shed Moose antler, Bears the name of my Company. I was pondering the ancient folk who first carved images of the animal that they revered. I do this carving to show the respect I have for the animals who first inspired me to carve, by dropping an antler where I could find it. From that first antler, I carved , or rather, cut my first buttons. They were simple slice buttons, and may or may not have even been sanded, But we all come from humble beginnings. I once traded seven buttons for a tire for my car! That was almost 20 years ago.

This button stands 1 and 5/8ths inches tall, 1 and 1/8th inches wide, and 1/2 inch thick.

It is 3/4ths carved. I have always felt that even if I was not going to carve details on the entire sculpture, that in order to get a realistic effect, you must be able to view the carving from any angle and get a true impression of the shape of the subject. The antler detail, and the ear shape are carried around to the back of the carving.

This button is one half inch thick, with a strong, turned shank, and a generous opening. The edges of the hole have been rounded off, so as to prevent wearing or snagging of the thread.

My T. Runfeldt, and 2-2006 are inscribed on the back.
This button includes a decorative certificate of Authenticity.
Each shipment will include a free Trinity Pottery Wall Plaque Which has an M.S.R.P. of over fifteen dollars!
